Treating the whole person and family...
 "dual diagnosis" treatment.

"I don't have a problem, I can quit on my own...I'll stop next week..."

Many abusers or addicts deny that their drinking or drug use is a problem.  They may deny or minimize the impact that their use has on the family, their jobs and their health. Many will have tried to quit on their own or even attended other treatment programs, only to find themselves eventually slipping back into their old habits.

The courage and commitment of the users loved ones can not be understated.  For many, this is the only way that a user will reluctantly agree to treatment.

Need help confronting a loved one?

A Professional Interventionist Can Help Families and Loved Ones

Convincing your loved one to begin treatment can be an overwhelming.  A Professional Interventionist may be your solution.  Our certified drug and alcohol counselors are trained in working with families and users to initiate treatment, an "Intervention".

The Interventionist will meet with the users loved ones and discuss a strategy, their fears and concerns.  The Interventionist will travel to meet with the family and loved ones in their home or one of our two clinics.

Please call to set up a confidential consultation with a Professional Interventionist.  Now there is no reason to delay or dismiss real treatment for your loved one.

 Most Effective & Affordable

Unfortunately, many people and families struggling with substance abuse or addiction find frustration as the addiction is hard to break, even with other treatment programs.

Our program is based on one of the most cutting edge, well researched and studied programs to determine the effectiveness of treatment.  The treatment model used, Hazelden Matrix Model, has been studied and perfected with more than 20 years of research and development.  We combine this with effective interventions for depression, anxiety and other common problems that come along with substance abuse or addiction.

This program is an excellent "step-down" program for clients transitioning from another higher level of care.  However, it is also designed as a first step for people seeking treatment for substance abuse or addiction.

Proven effective for alcohol, methamphetamine, cocaine and other stimulants and drugs, the Matrix model is recognized as one of the most effective treatments by the federal government and most of the major addiction agencies.

If the client has legal or other  issues, we will maintain the required contact with the courts or other agencies as needed.  We will also be in close contact with any of the client's health care providers.  Contact with your health care provider is essential, especially if you are to be treated for withdrawal symptoms.

Successful completion of the program earns the client and their family access to a lifetime of free aftercare support as needed. The free aftercare group is available once a week and both of our clinic locations, the Northland & Lenexa KS.

Treatment plans are individualized to each client's needs, but most people are able to complete the program in six to eight weeks.  The program is held three evenings or three days a week, one of the evenings is dedicated to families and loved ones who should plan to attend as they are an essential part of the treatment process.

Affordable - We accept most major insurance plans.  However, some people may choose to pay on their own for various reasons.  We will work with you and your situation to ensure that a workable payment or financing plan is available.  Compared to regions other treatment programs, you'll find that this program is one of the lowest total cost, especially when you consider how effective this program is.

Don't let denial kill you or your loved one. Get help now.
As with any treatment, deciding to get help can be one of the most difficult steps of recovery.  Often, due to the shame and obscured thinking, the person may be hesitant or even deny that they have a problem.  This is when the courage of family and friends, insisting on treatment, can save their loved one's life.   Once engaged in treatment and recovery, the once hesitant person will begin to realize the relief and benefits of a drug free lifestyle.

What type of Treatment works best.

All treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment along with close collaboration with your physician and other providers whom you see, such as your therapist or psychiatrist.  If you do not have a therapist or psychiatrist we might refer you to one.

After an assessment, usually an hour session, a treatment plan and goals will be developed.  If you are a good candidate for one of Journeys' programs, you may be able to start the program within a day or two.  Delays in care are avoided at all costs.  The Substance Abuse & Addiction Intensive Outpatient Program includes three days or three evenings per week, usually for 3 hours. Most clients are able to successfully graduate in six to eight weeks.  One session per week includes the family or loved ones, we insist that they attend when possible.
